Mergelings · mikelabs · Last updated 24 July 2026

Mergelings is a casual merge game made by mikelabs. It is designed to collect as little about you as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-ins, and we never ask for your email, contacts, or location.

What stays on your device

Your game plays entirely on your device. Your settings — sound, music, haptics, and volumes — stay on your device only and are never sent anywhere. Your game progress (scores, coins, unlocked themes, and discovered creatures) is also stored on your device, and additionally backed up as described in "Cloud save" below so a reinstall does not wipe purchases. Deleting the app deletes the local copy.

Cloud save

So that your coins, themes, and the one-time "Remove Ads" purchase are not lost if you reinstall or clear the app's data, your game progress is backed up anonymously to our server. When it is saved, the game generates a random device identifier (not your name, email, Apple ID, or any advertising ID) and stores your progress blob — scores, coins, unlocked themes, discovered creatures, streak, and the display name you chose for the leaderboard — against that identifier. There is no account and no personal information; the backup exists only to restore your own progress on the same or a reinstalled app. To have this data deleted, contact us using the address below.

The world leaderboard

Submitting a score to the world leaderboard is optional. If you do, we store only the display name you choose and your score. The name is free text you pick — it does not have to identify you, and we recommend it doesn't. Leaderboard entries are visible to all players. To have an entry removed, contact us using the address below.

Advertising (iOS app)

The iOS app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may process device information (such as advertising identifiers and coarse, non-precise signals) to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active; this involves an anonymous app-generated identifier and receipt data — never your name or payment details, which Apple does not share with us. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Children

Mergelings does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has no chat, no social features beyond the display-name leaderboard, and no data collection beyond what is described above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK and EU data-protection law), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. The only data we hold that could relate to you is your anonymous cloud-save backup and, if you submitted one, your leaderboard entry — email us with your device identifier or leaderboard name and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
